Title: Sr. Systems Administrator
Duties: Hired as a member of the facility management staff. Responsible for researching, evaluating, purchasing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software for the Novell LAN and PC’s at the Multi-shot and Insert Molding production facilities. Troubleshooting problems with hardware and software (Microsoft Office, GroupWise, Cadkey, Baan ERP, Webex, and various others). Training users on hardware, software, and networking. Supported approximately 100-150 laptop and desktop computers running Windows 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, NT, and XP. Supervised two Information Technology professionals who specialized in supporting our manufacturing software package (Baan) and miscellaneous hardware. Involved in budgeting and business planning for the Multi-shot facility. Developed and supported several databases for various applications. Supported our EDI commerce software. Project lead for the implementation of the Baan system at the Multi-Shot facility. Performed various software conversions. Part of a team that implemented data collection software (barcoding) on our shop floor.

Title: Programmer Analyst
Duties: Maintained, debugged, and changed existing manufacturing software programs written in BBX Basic on SCO Unix. Created new manufacturing software programs as requested by various users within Phillips Plastics. Helped users with general PC hardware and software problems and questions. Created UNIX scripts to automate some of our repetitive or complex tasks. Worked as part of an MIS Steering Committee, which determined corporate-wide standards, evaluated priorities within the MIS staff, evaluated and recommended MIS hardware and vendors, etc.

One resulted in a substantial cost reduction. Beta tested software on PC’s and the Apollo Network. Trained users on Tektronix graphics software.
